Episode 50: Topic Purge

IMG_20160812_092822.jpg

We made it! The big five-o, bro. Episode 50. If you're expecting some kind of special landmark special episode you're in for - well, more of the usual...disappointment. Tony, Spencer, and Chris bring it back to roots this week armed only with a list of forsaken topics and their minds. Oh, boy. This episode did come out as one of the most comical and reminds us of the chemistry these clowns have, but as far as the stuff they come up with? It gets weird, jeez.  (smh) All I will say is this is a really fun episode but if you happen to be a potential client or future guest...skip this one. Salute!

Episode 49: KellR Music and DJ Killa WhiteClef

The guys sit are joined this week by national electronic hip-hop producer KellR for a great discussion on acoustic vs digital tracking, versatile music placement, and the modern state of independent production. He also tells a great anecdote about the poor placement of one of his tracks on reality TV. KellR has worked on radio and projects as well as had contest winning tracks selected by both Wyclef and Usher, respectively. KellR's EP, Hear My Voice, drops in January.

Of course Tony, Spencer, and Chris can't just interview someone without going tangent crazy. They somehow navigate through robbing the homeless, Tony likes Nickelback, who's cat would you be, and little girls with salads. (not as creepy as it sounds). All that plus Chris refuses to use a coaster. Salute!

Episode 48: Patrick Uptain and the Nehi Peach

The guys had an awesome show this week with their new buddy and great musician Patrick Uptain. Patrick talks about what it was like moving from Alabama to study theatre (I spell it that was 'cuz I'm fancy), in New York before ending up in Nashville to pursue music. He's got a great story and incredible talent, which he demonstrates with some live in studio music.

We start the night out with some light speak of grown-up parties, canned sodas, and we discover Chris is Bransford Rambo. (Brambo?) Tony has a run in with a 3ft receipt, Mexican food is everywhere, and we close out on fake I.D.'s. This was actually recorded a few weeks ago so there's some residual Halloween talk. All that plus introducing the NeHi Peach. Salute!

Episode 47: The Men Behind The Man Behind The Curtain

Tony, Chris, and Spencer begin with the longest pre-show warm-up ever before pulling the curtain back on, um...The Man Behind The Curtain. Yep, the fellas take in the sounds of the city on the patio at Daisy Dukes and talk to Chris, Greg, and Andrew of The Man Behind The Curtain before their show. Besides being incontestable musicians, a formidable industry presence, and down right intelligent dudes they are just easy to talk to. (Which makes our job super easy.) The band tells great stories, including their titular origin (that sounds dirtier than it is), and rides with the SYB guys down all their tangential side streets. TMBTC dovetails perfectly into exactly what SYB is all about, do your shit the way you want! They're super knowledgeable, musically literate, and were great guests. All that plus, Alfred Hitchcock after Arby's. Salute!

Episode 46: Javonnii Curry, From Streets To Beats

Music producer and friend of the show Javonnii Curry sits down with the guys this week to talk about his new EP Let There Be Light. We learn about his vision for the music and its inspirational journey to completion. Javonnii takes us from the streets of Atlanta, to deployment in Kuwait, diving for the Army in Hawaii, to ending up at the renowned Blackbird recording studio here in Nashville.

It would not be and episode of SYB without some tangential straying into topics such as manscaping etiquette and Tony not knowing what hemisphere he lives in. Spencer gets drunk in the second half and we find out he's never been to Hawaii, but he has been to Texas. Salute!

Episode 45: Scare Your Buzz

Join the slutty pirate, slutty nurse, and slutty clown of podcasting on this Halloween edition of SYB. The fellas tackle hard hitting topics like why we only eat pumpkin pie in the fall? Which leads them to a new business venture. They recall some favorite Halloween party memories in preparation for that night's after show festivities. Tony and Spencer think the studio is on fire(someone turned the heat on for the first time), mischievous teen pranks, monsters vs. demons, and horror movie tropes. All that plus a new segment- Jokes From Thunder Stick's iPhone. Catholicism may be the scariest religion but nothing is more frightening than 4 guys who think they can podcast. Be afraid, be very afraid. Salute!

Episode 44: Charles Pratt

The fellas had a blast this week chatting with local comic Charles Pratt. They waste no time getting into it about why you should date big girls in the winter, restaurant gimmicks, successful short people, and perpetual hello's on the phone. Charles talks about knowing he wanted to do comedy since the 4th grade and getting his start in the business, as well as some hilarious anecdotes about hanging out with Kevin Hart and dressing up like Spartacus on Let's Make A Deal. Chicago Creeper(Kyle) sits in on the second half to talk about Halloween costumes and chicken wings, and the guys have a great conversation regarding the role of comedy in today's world. Share Your Buzz is lucky to have Charles as a friend of the show before he gets too famous to associate with us!  Salute!

Episode 43: Wick-it The Instigator & Sock Whiskey

Wick-it The Instigator sits down with the tres amibros to talk about DJ'ing, producing, and touring. Wick-it takes us through recording his friends at home to being a national touring DJ. There's a lot of great music talk in this show including switching from vinyl to digital, producing original tracks, and what it's like playing dance music for a large crowd.

Also in this week's show; age appropriate dress, after parties, Wick-it tries to get out of marching band, we are the "mash-up" generation, and Spencer makes sock whiskey. Oh, and they wait till the very end to talk about the fact that Wick-it was on Jerry Springer. Salute!

Episode 42: Hicktified

The air is dryer, the nights are cooler, and the world is pumpkin spiced. That's right, it's officially fall in Nashville. On this week's show the sharers of the buzz cover the upcoming season as well as take a look back on summer highlights. Tony takes a drink down memory lane and Spencer's sportin' new Rudie's merch. The guys discuss plans to grow the show, phone scams, new cars, and why mimosa's and bloody mary's are the only exceptable morning booze. Some non-political politics, and Tony smells a cinnamon broom. Salute!

Episode 41: A Drunken Goodbye

This week the guys, girls, and some new friends literally descend the bowels of Satan's Asshole, but in a good way. The show is live on location at Melrose Billiards. (The mics still smell like smoke and poor decisions.) The neighborhood dive bar/pool hall is closing temporarily to switch owners and get a touch-up. As south Nashville looks forward to what will be, and SYB is eager to form new partnerships with local bars, there's nothing wrong with raising a glass in admiration to what was.

The guys talk to Trevor Evans, the Melrose doorman, about his new website TheMinorSecond.com as well as topics like old electronics, music business, hunch punch, some local history, and Melrose memories.  Four white guys in their thirties discuss hip-hop and the ladies of SYB jump in to close out. All that plus, Don't eat those nuts! Salute!

Episode 40: Cobain's Chucks

Ladies and Gentlemen, Guys and Dolls! This week the voices you know and love are joined once again by Adam Crutchfield who stops by to bring Tony his hand painted Hunter S. Thompson portrait. Go back and listen to Episode 36 with Adam to hear his full story. His work is simply amazing and he's a great guy, to boot.

The guys start out telling some drinking stories before verbally ambling into more reggae talk, Tony doesn't look his age, and modern dating. Spencer tells a funny miscommunication story and Tony describes how his life is like a bad movie. There is also a separate short interview Tony did with Nashville Burlesque. All that plus, Chris gets Spencer to walk off the show. Salute!

Class, Sass, and Ass: Nashville Burlesque Interview

Ladies and gentlemen, guys and dolls!  Tony got to visit a Nashville Burlesque rehearsal and sit down with Shannon Million, Dan Frost, and Stephanie Adlington for a brief interview about their upcoming fall shows.  These beautiful, talented ladies, (and Dan. Love ya, bro), will provocatively ease you into autumn atop the sultry sounds of swanky songstresses.

They discuss the upscale Jazz Soiree, as well as their Devil's Night Ball, which features a screening of the Nashville grindhouse film Race With The Devil. Share Your Buzz is proud to be associated with such a great family of entertainers and we know you will too.

The Sultry September Jazz Soiree takes place Saturday 9/24 at Mad Donna's in east Nashville. Tickets and Info Here

Devil's Night Witches Ball  takes place Sunday 10/30 at Basement East                                       Tickets and Info Here

Bonus Episode: Return Of The Spence

Bonus Alert!! Spencer couldn't wait to get back on the mic so the guys sat down for a brief show to re-acclimate. Plus, Spencer's brother was visiting and sat in with us. Hope you enjoy it and remember you can find every show here at shareyourbuzz.com or on itunes. We are Share Your Buzz across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Tony@shareyourbuzz for booking. Salute!

Episode 39: One Cent Stamp!

Our heroes sit down with the band One Cent Stamp to promote their NEW record, Place Amongst The Dead  for one of the most fun Share Your Buzz podcasts to date. They talk with the guys about forming the band, their process of writing and selecting tracks, producing the new record, and booking around Nashville.

While Spencer is off doing mission work in Uganda, Tony and Chris pull the tuneful trio into wild digressions like reggae music, gas station meals, sports and of course..dicks and farts. The guys from One Cent Stamp were super insightful and funny and even gave us a few songs live in studio. This is definitely one to NOT skip. Salute!

Episode 38: Air Jortin'

It was a short show this week due to some end of summer holiday scheduling as Tony, Chris and their buddy Kyle take to the patio to discuss Walking Dead, the future of TV, and theme park rides. Tony and Chris play hobo vs. train cop, and we find out about the most boring Halloween costume ever. All that plus, Fruit Fly Frenzy. Salute!

Episode 37: The Tan Commandments

SHH! You hear that? That's the sound of the guys having a calm, peaceful, color within the lines show. Ahhh.....

Tony, Spencer, Chris, and Thunder Stick talk about favorite Batman, live sports vs. watching on tv, and new developments in the Melrose Billiards scandal. Somehow Spencer's roommate sneaks on a microphone and interrupts the show. They look back at some weird notes they jotted down and forgot about, Tony holds desperately onto summer, and Spencer has a belly gnome. All that plus the Tan Commandments. Salute!

Things are getting crazy at Share Your Buzz as summer begins to wind down. Schedules are all over the place, but Tony, Spencer, and Chris are committed to making the show better and bringing awesome local art straight into your ear holes every week! This week is no different as the fellas are joined by visual artist, and long time friend of Chris', Adam Crutchfield. Adam is an amazing painter and he talks to the guys about how he discovered on a whim this irrefutable natural talent.

Later, Spencer laments over his favorite neighborhood bar changing owners, Tony tells a story about almost dropping beer all over the Kroger parking lot, and apparently Adam has a fetish for two-headed taxidermy.  All that plus ghetto gas stations, the Olympics, and Chris' sweet sweet beard. Salute!

Episode 35: Michael Britt and the Timber Crips

Custom acoustic guitar builder Michael Britt sits down with Share Your Buzz this week and tells about beginning in the craft, studying under a master builder in Northern Ireland, and crafting guitars as therapy. The fellas also cover topics the likes of Tony's love for Jimmy Buffett, lesbian ex-girlfriends, some stories from Ireland, and...it turns out Africa and Australia are continents! Who knew? They close with a funny story from Chris as the gang goes through a full jar of moonshine in one show. It gets kinda bad, but luckily the show free! Salute!

Episode 34: Taco Flavored Kisses

What Can I Say? This show gets off the rails early and often. The ladies of Share Your Buzz take over this episode while Tony, Spencer, and Chris fade into relative obscurity.  This ended up being a pretty hilarious show, covering topics like fake babies, SYB condoms, Bat-Man, and bathroom noises. The guys and dolls get down to some serious female agenda issues, i.e., length vs. girth. The show closes with a game of A or B, and a game of Marry, Bang, Kill both seemingly happening concurrently. This week's break music is by past guest Rae Hering.  All that plus Spencer floats the buffalo. Salute!

Episode 33: That Cafe Shit w/ Ethan Shane & Sway Charles

Hey, guys! On this week's, very musical, show the fellas are joined by Chris' long time friend Ethan Shane. Ethan relays the story of how he and Chris got into a band together and tells us all about being flower artist to the stars. (If only there was a portmanteau for flower artist. Hmm, flowartist, flartist, OH! florist! I'm a genius.) Ethan also tells us all about his great new idea for a create-your-own arrangement shop. Visit Flower Bar on facebook to check it out!

On this quixotic mid-week recording Spencer switches from whiskey to vodka and we meet his new alter ego, Sway Charles! Topics are all over the place from modern day Nashville and music, over using meaning phrases (love you bro), Tony's million dollar app idea, to catching Pokemon in jail. Oh, and...uhhh, the beginning of the show is a bit...um, not for delicate sensibilities, let's say.

During the break we hear an original song from Ethan Shane and if you liked last week's show stay tuned at the end for Willow Sway, another sweet Stephanie Adlington joint. Salute!
